Children's Services Inspection

Wirral Children’s Serviced was inspected in September 2023 and the report was published on 2nd February 2024.  Judgements were made on:

• The impact of leaders on social work practice with children and families
• The experiences and progress of children who need help and protection
• The experiences and progress of children in care
• The experiences and progress of care leavers, and
• Overall effectiveness

The report expresses that in all areas, Wirral Social Care practice is sound and safe and there are areas of clear good practice.  The inspection also highlighted some areas where we need to do a little more before we can be judged overall as good. 

Grades awarded in all areas were: Requires improvement to be good.
