Who can help me while I'm in foster care?

There are lots of people who want to help you, so make sure to talk to them. Ask your social worker or foster carer to help you with this.

Talking with your foster carer, your social worker and your family, will make you feel better. You will also help them understand you better. By listening to them, you can all work together to find ways to make life easier.

What if I feel sad or lonely?

Talking to people about your emotions is important. There are good ways to express yourself:

  • talking to a friend
  • listening to or making music
  • writing a journal

And some not so good ways, like:

  • shouting at someone
  • smashing things
  • running away

Talking to someone about how you feel won’t make the feelings go away but it will help make you feel better. It will also help others understand how you feel.
